Child's Powerful ‘It Is Well With My Soul’ Performance

A child turned in a powerful performance of "It Is Well with My Soul." The young man sings the beloved hymn with so much emotion, displaying how much the lyrics mean to him and how much he's feeling them. Watch the short but moving clip to listen and see the talented singer perform "It Is Well with My Soul."

When it comes to church music, hymns are second to none. Even if you are a contemporary Christian music fan, you know this to be 100 percent true. Yes, contemporary Christian music is constantly growing in popularity, with many churches choosing those newer tunes and completely abandoning hymns.

While that may be a growing trend, nothing will ever top the old church hymns. They are all beautifully written and always pack an emotional punch that contemporary Christian music songs do not. "Great is Thy Faithfulness," "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace," and many, many others are and forever will remain undefeated. When it comes to church, no song will ever top those.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young man perfectly demonstrates the feeling and emotion contained in those lyrics with his sweet, powerful, and moving rendition of "It Is Well with My Soul." It's hard to listen to and watch this little guy sing this song, which is near and dear to the hearts of many, without becoming teary-eyed.

"When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot
Thou has taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul"

Yes, it is a tune many of us have likely heard hundreds or even thousands of times, but it will always and forever be powerful. Those lyrics perfectly capture life and the troubles we often encounter, but even during those deep, dark valleys, we can have peace that surpasses all understanding, as the song mentions. We can know and be assured that whatever happens, it is well with our soul.

Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord:"

Lauren Daigle's 'You Say' Gets Chillingly Beautiful Cover from Street Performer

Lauren Daigle's "You Say" got a chillingly beautiful cover from a street performer. It's such a terrific and expertly performed rendition that you'll likely find yourself returning to it repeatedly. Watch the short but awe-inspiring clip to listen to and see the young woman perform "You Say."

Christian music is full of incredibly talented artists who continually produce catchy, uplifting and encouraging songs about faith and Jesus Christ. Every few weeks, another song from someone like MercyMe, Chris Tomlin, Anne Wilson or TobyMac is released that seems destined to become a classic. Once you hear those songs, getting them out of your head can be difficult.

However, as full of talent as the contemporary Christian music world is, within the last 10 years or so, no song has reached the heights of Lauren Daigle's "You Say." It's universally known and beloved, having gotten a ton of play on pop radio. It's also probably one of that period's most played and covered songs. In a clip posted on YouTube, another young woman, Allie Sherlock, covers "You Say," and she knocks it out of the park!

Allie beautifully performs Lauren's classic about turning to and finding one's identity and worth in Jesus Christ. She uses her musical gifts to bless the sizable crowd that has stopped to hear her and those passing by.

"You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh, You say I am Yours"

In addition to Lauren's terrific performance and the powerful lyrics, the biggest reason the song has become a classic is that everyone can identify with it. All, at one time or another, have come to a point where they feel worthless and unloved, and God was there to offer His love, mercy, grace and protection.

Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

Your love 'O' Lord is extravagant (alternate version)

An alternate version of my song - Your love 'O' Lord is extravagant.

Your love 'O' Lord is extravagant

A song of mine about how extravagant is the love of the Lord God for all of us and how He even knew us while still in the womb and knew every hair on our head.

God of many names, God of love

A song of mine about the many names of God used in the Bible (scripture) and their meaning.

The Father's Love

A song I created about how the Father Still loved me (us) even when we stray or turn from His ways and waits with His arms open wide for us to return (sort of a take on the prodigal son)

Chris Tomlin Drops Lyric Video for ‘How Good It Is’

One of the biggest names in Christian music, Chris Tomlin, has released the official lyric video for his song “How Good It Is.” The Christian music legend’s latest tune is a beautifully written song of worship and praise. Watch the short clip to listen to Chris Tomlin’s latest song, “How Good It Is.”

No one is perfect. Even after we’ve been forgiven and accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, humans are still not perfect; we are just forgiven. We will still stumble and fall, and our flaws and blemishes will not disappear.

Even though we do not become perfect after coming to Christ, His love, mercy and grace endure. When we fail, we can always come back to Him. There is nowhere we can go or anything we can do to change His love for us, for He is quick and faithful to forgive. If not for His love and forgiveness, where would we be? That’s a terrifying thought.

In “How Good It Is,” Chris sings about the wonderful, everlasting, and magnificent love of Jesus Christ. The catchy and upbeat tune has a simple but powerful chorus that will likely get stuck in your head after just one or two listens. While the chorus and the entire song are an earworm, the verses are the most powerful, and they help make this one memorable and stand out from other similar songs.

“Oh, how good that it is to sing praise to the Lord
Oh, how great is the Name above all Names
From the rising of the morning sun
To the setting of the same”

The Lord has done much for you and me, and He continues to bless and work in our lives. For that and all He has done, He is more than deserving of our praise.

How good it is to sing praise to the Lord, indeed!

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”

Jamie MacDonald and Lauren Daigle Plead for Divine Intervention in ‘Desperate’

Jamie MacDonald and Lauren Daigle plead for divine intervention in “Desperate.” The two Christian music artists are looking, hoping and begging for God to act as they sing in their duet. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear Jamie and Lauren Daigle perform “Desperate.”

Human beings have a knack for bringing about ruin and destruction. If given the opportunity, people can and will make anything significantly worse. Let’s remember that Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden first unleashed sin into the world. Unfortunately, we’ve been paying the price for their rebellion and defiance ever since.

While Jesus Christ, by willingly going to the cross, bridged the gap that sin caused between God and man, humans, even after they’ve been forgiven, can still manage to get themselves in some terrible positions and situations. It can get to a rather bleak point, where we don’t see any hope. But God, as He often does, can inject hope and turn everything around.

In “Desperate,” Jamie and Lauren sing about this exact situation. They have reached the end of the road and cannot continue. As they both sing, their present circumstances clearly show that they desperately need a miracle from the Lord because there is no hope without Him.

“Prayed all the prayers I can pray, but I
I won’t stop knocking ‘til you open the door
You can move a mountain
You can calm a storm”

We’ve all been in similar positions, where the only thing that can possibly improve the situation and make it bearable is a miracle, God’s loving, gentle and lifesaving touch. And every time He comes through because He is faithful and merciful.

Praise His name!  He is deserving of all glory, honor and praise!

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
